Markos is the chief security officer of Industrial Dynamics’ Infotec division and is charged with eliminating any potential threat to corporate investments. He hates his job and hates his boss, Roman Moss, even more. The other Styxers are unaware of his close ties with the Vanguard, and little else is known of his personal reasons for being part of the team.

Dorothy

Within virtuality, Anne poses as Raven’s personal assistant when it truth, they are twin sisters. As a child, Dorothy was diagnosed with a degenerative bone disease and since then was fully integrated into virtuality as their family’s insurance provider declined their request for gene therapy. She thrives on living as hard and fast as she can within virtuality since it’s the only life she has.

Real Name: Calib Sands

Calib’s father was a passionate journalist and disappeared shortly after participating in an anti-corporate demonstration. His mother became ill the next day and was dead by the end of the week. Calib and his older brother, Paul, were turned over to the State and placed in an orphanage. The two brothers managed to escape together, but were separated after falling down a large drainage pipe. Calib now makes his home in Bridgeport’s north end – a largely abandoned slum.
Outside of reality, Calib assumes the role of a wizard, which allows him to utilize his talents in precache modification triggers. Effectively, he is able to ‘cast a spell’ via vocal component, by hand motions, or with specific staff gestures. The only downside to this type of hack is it’s easy to detect – essentially like carrying a loaded gun into a bank.

Cleo
Real Name: Abigail Loveless

Bio:
Abby is one of the most talented hackers in the world. Her code can break down a military-class firewall in a matter of minutes, or can crack passwords instantly. Her father was a famous lawyer that went up against Industrial Dynamics and other megacorps as they dug their way deeper and deeper into the government’s back pocket. His death was sudden and unexpected; he suffered a major heart attack at the age of 42 despite being in top health. His enemies then stripped everything away from his surviving relatives: their mansion, his life-insurance policies, and personal investments. Abby swore revenge and for many years acted as a burr under the corporate saddle by dipping into their finances and redistributing across several 3rd world nations. When she found out that she had become pregnant, though, she decided to legitimize her online interactions and got a job as an online instructor.
Cleo and Vlad did have a short-lived relationship that ended when she found out she was going to be a mother. While online, Cleo wears an ancient-Egyptian themed costume because she’s always loved historic Egypt and the mythos surrounding it.

Very little is known of Raven except that she has access to an extensive information network and deep pockets to fund major operations. These operations usually involve Robin-Hood like efforts to steal from the rich and give to the poor, but sometimes they are a little more self-serving than she likes to admit. Her true goal is to find a way to get her sister’s disease treated.
She prefers to maintain a cat form while online simply because she *really* likes cats.

Vlad
Real Name: Maximilian Evanhardt

Within virtuality, Vlad is a pirate smitten with vampirism. While the pirate portion of his identity is something he created himself, he was actually bitten by a vampire during an adventure session within the Transylvania iVenue. He could easily reverse the vampirism code, but he prefers to maintain the condition. However, he has modified several aspects of the infection’s code to allow himself to be in (virtual) sunlight without feeling pain.
In reality, Maximilian is an MIT graduate currently doing R&D for a military defense contractor known as Precision Global, the same firm that developed the Grid of Orbital Defense. Since his relationship with Cleo fell apart, he’s become jaded with the Ultranet and struggles to find something to fill the hole that she left in him.

Zero’s interactual guise as a high-tech ninja isn’t far from the truth. Conceived in a test lab, Jazee was the first of a genetically manufactured race of humans: Homo Alphagenetis, or more widely known as Alphagen. As a result, he is immune to every known disease and virus and highly resilient against mutations. He’s also much stronger and quicker than normal people and is fully expected to live beyond 200 years. Out of twenty test-groups, Jazee was the only alphagen to live past the age of five. Once he has reached the age of twenty, his genome will be classified as fully functional and made available for production. Early estimates state “natural” birth of an alphagen child will cost the parents in the neighborhood of $7.6 million.
